    Basic Peer Support Training

    This 3-day course brings together peer support team members that have been selected by their department on a volunteer basis. Throughout this class, participants will acquire supportive skills which are designed to help them assist their co-workers who may be experiencing a variety of life crisis situations.

    The goal is to prepare participants for crisis conversations and help them feel comfortable when talking to someone who  understands the rewards and challenges that come with working as a public safety professional.

    Objectives

    • Prevalence and scope of mental health issues with public safety professionals

    • How to develop and implement a peer support program

    • Crisis intervention and basic CISM skills

    • Self-care, public perception, and resilience building

  2. February 9 – 13, 2026 Lake Stevens, WA

    Basic Peer Support Training

    This 5-day course will provide an in-depth look at the need, creation, purpose, and application of peer support programs for first responders. Attendees will gain knowledge of behavioral health concerns faced by first responders and of the impacts of stress, trauma, and critical incidents. Attendees will learn about suicide prevention, assessment, and intervention as well as ways to manage burn out and compassion fatigue to maintain employee wellness. A core component of the course is learning the skills and interventions used by peer supporters and practicing these skills throughout the week.

    Objectives

    • Apply basic peer support skills in interactions with peers in need
    • Identify behavioral health concerns commonly experienced by first responders
    • Apply critical incident intervention techniques for peers
    • Assess suicide risk in peers and apply suicide intervention techniques
    • Identify a peer’s need for a higher level of care and how to utilize referral networks
    • Discuss the issues of burnout and compassion fatigue and ways to combat each
  3. February 23 – 25, 2026 San Luis Obispo, CA

    Basic Peer Support Training

This course will cover an overview of the signs, symptoms and treatment recommendations for post traumatic stress and understanding risks for suicide.

  9. February 17, 2026 Washington Association of Sheriffs & Police Chiefs

    Executive Peer Support

    This two-day course is designed for executive and command-level staff seeking to understand, support, and sustain peer support programs within their agencies. Participants will gain insight into the purpose and structure of peer support, best practices for program development, and the critical role of leadership in fostering a culture of wellness. Attendees will explore the behavioral health challenges faced by first responders and learn how peer support teams help mitigate the effects of stress, trauma, and critical incidents. Emphasis is placed on promoting organizational wellness that begins with leadership and includes support for executive well-being. 

    Objectives

    • Explain the role of leadership in developing, supporting, and sustaining peer support programs within first responder agencies.
    • Identify the behavioral health challenges and wellness needs unique to first responders and the ways peer support can mitigate these challenges.
    • Evaluate their organization’s culture of wellness and identify strategies to promote psychological safety, openness, and trust across all ranks.
    • Apply leadership principles to support peer support teams, including policy development, confidentiality practices, and effective program oversight.
    • Develop strategies to promote wellness at the executive level, including self-care, peer connection, and modeling healthy leadership behaviors.

    Wellness Coordinator Training

    Our five-day course is designed for first responders who serve as the Wellness Coordinators for their departments, and for organizations creating a wellness program. This course will cover the importance of a Wellness Coordinator as they advocate change and develop a comprehensive program.

    We will cover emotional wellness, suicide intervention, and review how to evaluate your departments overall wellness. Through interactive sessions, a group project, and a variety of activities, participants will learn about the 8 Dimensions of Wellness, which include occupational, intellectual, environmental, financial, social, physical, spiritual, and emotional.

  11. May 4 – 8, 2026 Anaheim, CA

    Wellness Coordinator Training

    Our five-day course is designed for first responders who serve as the Wellness Coordinators for their departments, and for organizations creating a wellness program. This course will cover the importance of a Wellness Coordinator as they advocate change and develop a comprehensive program.

    We will cover emotional wellness, suicide intervention, and review how to evaluate your departments overall wellness. Through interactive sessions, a group project, and a variety of activities, participants will learn about the 8 Dimensions of Wellness, which include occupational, intellectual, environmental, financial, social, physical, spiritual, and emotional.

    Objectives

    • Learn about all aspects of a public safety wellness program through this 25-module course
    • Establish the roles and responsibilities of a Wellness Coordinator
    • Gain an understanding of the Eight Dimensions of Wellness
    • Discover tools and benchmarks to track progress
    • Support a cultural shift with proactive wellness that will help reduce suicide and absenteeism
