A Safe, Supportive Place to Heal
Residential Treatment for First Responders
First Responder Wellness is one of the only time-tested and trusted programs with a proven track record of treating first responders nationwide.
Our Residential Program provides a safe, structured environment where police officers, firefighters, EMS, dispatchers, and other public safety professionals can learn tools to overcome maladaptive coping mechanisms caused by the strain of the job, and return to work better than ever.
At our campus in Orange County, CA, you’ll live, learn, and heal alongside peers who understand the culture, the experiences, and the “silent burden” that comes with the job. You won’t have to explain what you’ve seen, why you feel the way you do, or why it’s been hard to ask for help—you’ll be among your own.
“I had a seamless experience referring a member to First Responder Wellness. The staff was incredibly supportive and fantastic to work with throughout the entire process. It’s the only treatment facility I would confidently recommend to our members.”
Marco Monteblanco
Executive Director Washington State FOP
Why Choose Residential Treatment?
Some stress injuries and behavioral health challenges are too acute to manage while working full time or trying to balance life at home. Residential treatment offers:
- 24/7 support in a safe environment
- Intensive, focused therapies and counseling
- Distance from workplace stressors and unhealthy coping mechanisms
- Time and space to restore balance and build resilience
- Residential homes are welcoming, comfortable, and located in quiet neighborhoods
What Treatment Looks Like
First Responder Wellness offers a confidential, solutions-focused, and culturally competent approach to trauma treatment. No substance use is required to enter our program. Here’s what that looks like:
Individual & Group Therapy
Every client works with a culturally competent clinician to address trauma, stress injury, substance misuse, and co-occurring conditions. Group sessions bring peers together to share experiences, practice tools, and connect.
Experiential Therapies
The First Responder Wellness program includes equine therapy, yoga, meditation, mindfulness training, and breathwork. These experiential approaches help responders reconnect body and mind, release stored stress, and discover new coping strategies.
Gym & Physical Wellness
Physical readiness is part of the job—and part of recovery. FRW clients have access to a fully equipped gym and fitness programming, including group workouts, personal training, and wellness coaching. Exercise is integrated into treatment as a proven way to manage stress, improve mood, and restore confidence.
Family Programming
Trauma affects more than the individual. It ripples into marriages, children, and home life. Our family program gives spouses and loved ones a chance to understand what their responder is experiencing, learn communication and support strategies, and begin their own healing process. In our 3-day in-person family program, we work to rebuild trust and connection at home.
